Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP Nusrat Jahan said that love and jihad can’t go hand in hand. Nusrat who had previously rejected the radical mindset of bigots and fundamentalists who had objected to her offering prayers in tandem with Hindu rituals hit out at BJP on Saturday and called the saffron party ‘poison’. Miffed over the proposed ‘Love Jihad’ legislation that some of the BJP ruled states are mulling to introduce, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Assam, Jahan reminded BJP that ‘love is personal’. “This is sad because love and jihad can’t go hand in hand. Love is personal. Who I love is personal and no one can have a say in that. The only advice I have for BJP is that they should understand love is personal and they should learn to love,” said Nusrat Jahan on Saturday.
